Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom equipment for mining and similar applications, and has a job opening for a Production Manager – Welding Fabrication Shop Foreman.
This role involves overseeing production, material & production planning, H&S, shipping, and working closely with quality & engineering. Candidates should have hands-on fabrication, machining, or welding experience with 10+ years in managing fabrication shops under Canadian H&S requirements.
The Production Manager – Welding Fabrication Shop Foreman is responsible for leading two shifts, supervising production staff, ensuring productivity, optimizing capacity, and collaborating with HR, Quality, H&S, and engineering. The role includes overseeing CNC lathe, cutting, bending, welding operations, production planning, scheduling, and supervision. Additional responsibilities include safety, performance management, coaching, mentoring, managing the production budget, and supporting process improvement, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement.
Candidates should ideally have over 10 years as a welder, fitter, or machinist, with at least 7-8 years in leadership roles such as shop foreman or production manager within Canadian health & safety standards. Hands-on welding experience (MIG, TIG) and team leadership are highly preferred.
