A little about the position:

Job Summary

Ensure the successful production activities of the Steel department. Manage a team of employees involved in the daily production of steel parts, and work to achieve the KPI’s for the department. Support a strong employee culture through the reinforcement of Latham’s Core Values.

Some of What You Will Do:

  • Manage a team to ensure excellent efficiency, quality and safety results
  • Follow company safety policies and programs to promote a safety-first culture throughout the facility.
  • Maintain high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency opportunities and evaluate processes to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate performance of staff, planning training and development as needed.
  • Responsible for production, meeting daily schedule to ensure on time delivery.
  • Submit reports on performance and progress to direct manager.
  • Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Facilitate daily shift meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)

  • Management or Technical college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing/engineering related function
  • Previous experience working in a Steel production environment.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office, ERP, ADP)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including extended hours or weekends
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired
  • Exceptional understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, employee relations
