Responsibilities

• Actively participates in the site’s safety and quality management programs.
• Participates and practices Lean Manufacturing, including Six Sigma, FMEA, and 8D Problem Analysis.
• Prepares and reviews production, safety and quality reports; develops action plans with team members for problem resolution.
• Establishes and implements improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance and production.
• Directs and assists with developmental or experimental activities.
• Collaborates with employees to obtain input for problem resolution of production issues and efficiencies using appropriate problem-solving tools.
• Reviews Key Performance Indicators (daily, weekly, and monthly) to ensure the facility meets departmental objectives.
• Meets with Planning and Operations to discuss production schedules and changes; ensures vacancies are covered for vacations or absences to fulfill schedule requirements.
• Interfaces with customers and suppliers as needed.
• Implements proactive and corrective maintenance practices for production equipment; schedules maintenance as required.
• Develops and enforces an effective preventative maintenance program.
• Ensures plants meet cycle time requirements to achieve throughput objectives.
• Ensures employees are properly trained in safety, quality and production.
• Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans to attain objectives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor degree in engineering or operations management; Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and / or process improvement, including managing teams.
• Previous experience in a Lean environment.
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus.
• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Must have Injection Molding experience.
