Our client, Artus Bottling Ltd., is a leading contract packager and mobile wine service provider based in Penticton, BC. Established in 2005 as Canada’s first independent mobile bottler not tied to a winery, Artus has grown into a full-service operation offering co-packaging, sparkling wine production, kegging, and mobile bottling solutions.

Today, Artus supports a wide range of clients across the province, helping bring still and sparkling wines, ciders, non-alcoholic beverages, and RTDs to market. As the company continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee floor operations and drive process excellence.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Production Manager will lead a team of approximately 15 FTEs including Supervisors, Line Leads, and Operators, while working closely with a dedicated Production Planner. This role is focused on performance, quality, and continuous improvement in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support a collaborative production team;
  • Foster a safety-first, inclusive, and high-performance culture;
  • Align production activities with forecasts and client needs;
  • Oversee daily execution across still, sparkling, non-alcoholic, and RTD packaging formats;
  • Maximize equipment uptime, labor efficiency, and overall line productivity;
  • Manage bottling, canning, labeling, and secondary packaging equipment;
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and coordinate vendor-supported repairs;
  • Maintain QA and HACCP programs, ensuring all lots meet specifications and regulatory compliance;
  • Support in-process testing, release, and corrective actions as needed;
  • Ensure proper staging and usage of materials such as glass, cans, closures, and labels;
  • Monitor WIP and approve inventory usage and loss reports;
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain on inbound materials and outbound logistics;
  • Lead cost, quality, and efficiency improvement initiatives;
  • Support small-scale product development and pilot runs for clients;
  • Report on KPIs with actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Operations, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred);
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in beverage, food, or CPG manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role;
  • Proven ability to manage production teams and multiple packaging lines;
  • Strong knowledge of bottling and canning equipment, sanitation practices, and production processes;
  • Proficient in MRP or ERP systems such as Vintrace, and familiar with office software;
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions;
  • Skilled in coaching, communication, and conflict resolution;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment;
  • Additional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), HACCP or PCQI, Forklift, or First Aid are an asset.
  • This is a full-time, permanent, on-site role based in Penticton, BC. The schedule is Monday to Friday during the day, with flexibility for seasonal or project-based overtime.
