Job Description

You will plan, coordinate and monitor daily work schedules to meet production plan by applying knowledge and experience to resolve complex and ongoing production problems. You will manage all areas of production within our Cambridge, ON facility. You will report to the Plant Manager. You will work onsite at our Cambridge, ON facility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage labour and employee relations, safety and training and take necessary actions to ensure an efficient and successful department operation.
  • Regular communications with all employees on work, standards, performance and future plans.
  • Initiate and contribute to the development of strategic plans within the primary functional areas.
  • Implement or assist in the implementation of strategic plans within these areas.
  • Provide strategic input into senior management's decisions which will have long-term business impact.
  • Maintain a production quality program to ensure that quality standards are defined, understood and applied.
  • Increase the productive capacity of the group by initiating new ideas, processes and systems.
  • Support risk management that promotes a continuous process improvement philosophy.
  • Maintain an effective communication process with all support groups to solve a variety of problems to successfully achieve set goals.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure that all are fully understood by the operators, take necessary actions to increase the quality yields, production yields and production requirements.
  • Implement productivity improvement projects to achieve higher production output and/or lower productivity costs.
  • Monitor and improve departmental operating budget and costs.
  • Ensure that all personnel have received sufficient training to comply with procedures.
  • Regularly review systems and procedures to ensure relevance and accuracy.
  • Ensure that quality, integrity and workmanship standards are adhered to in the Dept.
  • Be responsible for guidance, leadership, training and safety of all personnel in the Dept.
  • Have a talent development / management mindset and exercise this in all discussions with employees in the department.
  • Be responsible for the systems required in the manufacturing of goods in the Dept.
  • Perform all other related duties as required.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Legal authorization to work in CAN is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 4 year University degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field of study
  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership capacity within a manufacturing/production environment
  • MBA Preferred
  • CPIM Designation
  • Expert knowledge and experience using ERP Systems (preferably SAP)
