Overview

Very successful company in the Brantford, Canada area has an outstanding opportunity available for a Production Manager. This position will manage a 24/7 production department with about 40-50 employees.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day safe, effective, efficient and environmentally sound operation of the production facility through monitoring and development of the operations team and coordination of activities with other plants and corporate departments.
• Monitor production operations in order to recognize trends, opportunities to enhance procedures, potential problems, safety issues or other factors that might impact production.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent through experience

Experience

• 5-7 years manufacturing management experience in a plastics or polymers environment

• Strong and proven management and leadership skills
• Results driven and action oriented
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• A working knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma and 5S methodologies and continuous improvement processes in general
• In-depth and expert knowledge of plastics processing including materials, equipment and process control

• Strong computer skills: ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite

Industry Experience

• Experience with plastics extrusion, thermoplastics, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, compounding, polyolefins, polyethylene or polypropylene would be a plus.
