A leading company in cast production is seeking a Production Lead in Mississauga, ON. This full-time role focuses on ensuring plant performance and leading a team to achieve production metrics. The ideal candidate will have a degree/diploma and strong leadership skills, with a focus on safety and quality.

The estimated base salary range for this role is “x to X” per year.

Under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Lead is responsible to ensure plant performance in Safety, Quality and Productivity.
Additionally, the Production Lead Hand is responsible for providing effective leadership, driving continuous improvement, and coordinating production activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all gypsum and cement casting activities. Including daily sequencing of product workflow to meet customer’s needs.
- Drive the importance of Safety in the Workplace including delivering daily safety start up discussions and following up on any safety issues.
-Guiding and advising the team in interpretation of Plant and Company policies.
- Direct the team to achieve daily productivity and quality metrics as per Plant Manager.
- Owns production reporting for Casting.
- Manages any employee conflict as necessary, in a mature manner and seeks to improve morale and teamwork amongst the team.
- Drives process improvements.
- Attends meetings as required, prepared to report out on results.
- sets the standard for hands on leadership for the team
- able to problem solve with the team and demonstrate a willingness to understand their points of view
- available to work overtime as needed or requested to maintain customer service
- any other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
Qualifications:
-1-4 years’ experience in the Casting Department.
-Able to read shop drawings or be willing to learn.
- Degree or diploma from an accredited college or university
- Proficiency Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
-A valid forklift license or willingness to obtain a license.
- Strong leadership, influence/interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to meet established deadlines
