Job summary

More Than Just Feed Inc is seeking a Production Lead in Alberta to support daily production targets and maintain a safe, compliant operation. You will coordinate with operations, warehousing, and sales teams to meet customer commitments while upholding quality standards.

In this role you will lead by example, develop daily production schedules, mentor staff, onboard new employees, and support HACCP plan execution and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Synergize with internal and external stakeholders to address production planning questions with a focus on quality and customer service.
  • Lead and establish the daily production schedule and support team health.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and competency verification of staff onsite.
  • Lead by example to ensure safe work practices and habits are followed.
  • Support HACCP Plan execution and coordinate with QA on audits and corrective actions.
  • Complete daily HACCP validations and procedure verifications including medicine reconciliation.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliations.
  • Backfill Plant Production as required.
  • Support documentation and follow-up actions during feedback and incident investigations.
  • Create and maintain mill operation processes and procedures.
  • Monitor mill operations and report deficiencies to Regional Operations Manager.
  • Maintain PPE supply inventories.
  • Support routine reviews of Plant Production staff with the Regional Operations Manager.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job purpose

The Production Lead is responsible to support the Regional Operations Manager with daily production goals and promote a safe operating environment for production staff. This role will also support the smooth execution of bulk feed production and deliveries.

Key Accountabilities
  • Offer exceptional customer experience
  • Support the implementation and execution of the production, warehousing, and delivery plans
  • Support cohesion between manufacturing, warehousing/logistics and sales teams
  • Support regional facility operational and quality excellence
Duties and responsibilities
  • Synergize with internal and external stakeholders to address production planning questions or concerns in a timely manner with a focus on quality and exceptional customer service
  • Assist with oversight of accurate and efficient plant operations; take a lead role in establishing the daily production schedule and support team health
  • Support employee onsite onboarding, training, and competency verification
  • Lead by example, ensure safe work practices and habits are followed
  • Accountable to support the HACCP Coordinator regarding regional and facility HACCP Plan execution. Collaborate with the Quality team on internal and external HACCP audits; track audit deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Complete daily HACCP validations and procedure verification including medication reconciliation
  • Assist with inventory reconciliations
  • Responsible to backfill Plant Production as required
  • Support documentation and follow-up actions during feedback and incident investigations
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of mill operation processes and procedures
  • Monitor mill operations, report operational deficiencies and areas for improvement to the Regional Operations Manager
  • Maintain appropriate PPE supply inventories
  • Support Regional Operations Manager during routine reviews of Plant Production staff
  • Other duties as required and assigned
