Job description

Title: Production Lead - Langley.

Summary of Position:

As directed by the Shift Supervisor. Assists in the direction and support of production personnel, implementing company policy and procedures, maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Production Supervisor to ensure production schedules and operating efficiencies are met, including coordinating repairs and maintenance activities with production planning and maintenance department to maximize uptime and labor efficiencies.
  • Make proper machine adjustments and possess a technical knowledge of machinery, material and manufacturing operations.
  • Must be able to prepare all production reports.
  • Responsible and accountable for all shift activities on Company premises, including the enforcement of company policies and procedures in the temporary absence of the Shift Supervisor.
  • To be familiar with the function of service equipment, such as cooling tower, compressor, railcar unloader, Con-Air and Chillers.
  • Must be able to fulfill the responsibilities of the Supervisor (back up) Material Handlers and Production Assistants and understand the general packaging systems.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance to H & S policies.
  • Responsible for accurate data entry and validation of production information into the Manufacturing system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Skill Qualifications Preferred:
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a cooperative environment.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude. Ability to use basic hand tools. ie allen keys / wrenches.
  • Experience in plastic manufacturing processes, such as injection and/or blow molding.
  • Sound trouble shooting skills, with a thorough understanding of injection molding processes.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory related experience would be desired.
  • Must be physically able to fulfill the job requirements.
  • Must be a licensed qualified forklift operator (or able to obtain).
  • Must be able to work a 12 hr rotating schedule.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • First aid level I required (or obtained).
  • Future growth - Shift Supervisor.
