A leading cabinetry company in British Columbia is seeking a Cabinetry Engineer to translate job specifications into actionable production information. The role involves reading architectural drawings, preparing production details, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure quality control and efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a background in engineering or design and experience with CAD/CAM software.
The Cabinetry Engineer will use existing software and procedures to translate 1D measures and job specifications into information the facility and field can use for the manufacture, installation, and quality control of our cabinetry products.
Responsibilities include
-Ability to read Architectural drawings, renderings, sketches, and create shop drawing submittal packages including, details, color, and hardware specifications
-Prepare production information (drawings, cut lists, BOM) providing the necessary information for programming, CNC machining, and production assembly operations, engineer for efficiency and within budget
-Work directly with shop floor colleagues on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous production and process improvements, track project completion and timelines
Qualifying Requirements
-Post-secondary in a relevant field (engineering, secondary wood processing, drafting, interior design) or equivalent experience
-3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
-Demonstrated experience using mainstream CAD/CAM design software tools, ideally Cabinet Vision
-Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
-CNC programming/operating experience preferred
-Legally permitted to work in Canada
