Safran Landing Systems, Mirabel plant, operates as a major supplier of landing gear components for Airbus and Boeing programs. The role leads a value chain across finishing, assembly and support functions, ensuring production plans are met with high quality, safety, and efficiency.

Strong leadership, bilingual communication, and strategic decision-making are essential to drive continuous improvement in a unionized environment. This is a high-visibility manufacturing leadership position.

Qualifications

• Requires relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
• Significant leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in unionized operations is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee all operations of the value chain to achieve delivery, production, efficiency, quality, and HSE objectives.
• Delegate tasks and decisions to team members based on capabilities to foster commitment and autonomy.
• Ensure execution of the production plan to meet deliveries and adjust resources as needed.
• Identify issues early and coordinate with maintenance, quality, HR, and other stakeholders to resolve them.
• Lead changes to adapt to evolving requirements across departments.
• Monitor production plans with planning to meet objectives and optimize resources.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and the collective agreement; develop team skills.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a global leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major components of landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The manager is responsible for all operations of a value chain to ensure performance in terms of delivery, production, efficiency, quality, and health, safety, and environment (HSE). Under their supervision are the methods agents and manufacturing employees of the finishing department (sandblasting, plating, painting, and finishing grinding).

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Delegates tasks and decisions to the team based on their capabilities, to foster their commitment to team objectives and autonomy
• Guides and assists the team in solving problems and making decisions simply and effectively
• Implements everything necessary to ensure the execution of the production plan to meet deliveries
• Identifies and anticipates problematic situations and obtains help from a resource person to resolve the issue (maintenance, quality, HR, etc.)
• Facilitates necessary changes to adapt to new realities

Production

• With the Planning team, monitors the production plan and adjusts as needed to ensure objectives are met.
• Ensures the availability and optimization of resources to promote workforce efficiency
• Manages workforce movements by ensuring optimal versatility of manufacturing employees in their sector

Human Resources

• Ensures compliance with the company's rules, procedures, and policies, including the collective agreement
• Ensures the development of team members' skills according to current processes and policies

Health Safety Environment

• With the HSE teams, ensures awareness and compliance with HSE rules and policies in their sector
• Participates in accident/event investigations
• Ensures the completion of Inspections, Analyses, and associated Action Plans (e.g., 5S, IGP, Ergonomics, OHS, …)

Quality

• With the quality teams, ensures awareness among operators regarding quality (internal and external)
• Ensures the dynamics and performance of operational problem-solving RPO / 8D
• Ensures the achievement of quality objectives and performance for their sector (e.g., NC, Rework, Scrap, Complaints, …)

Requirements

• Approximately 10 years of relevant experience in a similar position
