Job description

Join to apply for the Production Engineering Support (Co-op) role at S&C Electric Company.

Job Summary: As the Production Engineering Support Co-op, you will report directly to the Supervisor of Machine Shop and utilize your knowledge, excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to assist in the Machine Shop Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about manufacturing engineering to gain valuable experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Arrangement: On-site, Day Shift (Mon - Fri, 6:30am - 3pm)

Work Term: Fall 2025 (Sept - Dec)

Responsibilities:

  • Create standard work documents to capture existing process steps.
  • Gather, refine, analyze, and monitor data to help establish baselines.
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues affecting the Fabrication department.
  • Assist in implementing lean initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a registered post-secondary co-op program in Manufacturing, Industrial, and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations; past CNC knowledge or familiarity is an asset.
  • Eligible for a 4-month placement for Fall 2025 Co-op Work Term.
  • Keen eye for details; excellent with data capturing and analysis.
  • Ability to multi-task with flexibility to business needs, including time management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
