We are currently seeking safety-oriented Packaging Line Attendants for our Edmonton fiberglass insulation plant.

This position is part of the Owens Corning Canada Edmonton Plant Co-op Program. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Engineering Co-op to join our team for an 8-12 month term. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic production environment, working alongside experienced professionals. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the production floor, learning to monitor and maintain equipment
  • Support the production team in meeting quality and efficiency targets, with guidance and training
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot issues under supervision to ensure smooth production flow
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to learn and implement new production techniques and technologies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production activities
  • Adhere to Owens Corning safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
  • On floor support for supervisors
  • Identify gaps in training for operations and create training plans
  • Act as a bridge between management/day staff to shift staff
  • Identify operational trends and implement mitigation measures

TPM:

  • Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Support Autonomous Maintenance (AM) pillar activities, including developing standards for cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of equipment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance to the TPM Master Plan
  • Act as the central point for AM expansion teams (documentation, guiding, training, leading certain expansion teams in supervisors’ absence)
  • Support other TPM pillars where needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Recently graduated or currently enrolled in a mechanical, chemical, materials, or related engineering degree program from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Basic understanding of production processes and equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work on 12 hour rotating shift is required

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Expected started is July 2025.
  • Official transcripts will be verified during the interview process.
  • Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the Canada without work visa sponsorship.
