Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Canada is seeking a Production Engineer to transition prototypes to production-ready systems across aerospace, marine, vehicular and related equipment. You will lead build instructions, test equipment requirements, and configuration plans while supporting obsolescence and engineering change management.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in design, development and manufacturing in a product-based environment, with experience in avionics or defense-related systems, and eligibility

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and modify engineering drawings, schematics, and BOM.
• Technical writing for reports, work instructions, safety documentation, and training material
• General multi-discipline technical knowledge which can be applied to an overall system.

Responsibilities

• Develop production build instructions, manufacturing and integration processes.
• Evaluate processes and designs for cost savings via design and manufacturing improvements.
• Manage engineering changes through ECO/ECN lifecycle and Change Control Board.
• Primary engineering contact for technical assistance within the supply chain.
• Primary engineering contact for technical queries from internal and customers.
• Prepare, participate, and conduct internal training on operational, maintenance and production changes.
• Validate production processes and build instructions by participating in first article builds.
• Support obsolescence management planning with operations.
• Create or review engineering publications including drawings, schematics, safety documentation, and operational materials.
• Assignment and management of configurations for products including configuration baselines.
