Job summary

Norsat International Inc. in Richmond, BC, is seeking a Production Engineer to move new products from development to production, troubleshoot during manufacturing, and coordinate with Engineering on design changes.

You will transfer designs, review procedures for accuracy and efficiency, and support Lean initiatives while working on-site in Canada. This role requires a degree in electronics/engineering and hands-on RF testing experience, with relocation to the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of RF/high-frequency testing experience.
• Experience with production systems including MRP and ECOs.
• Exposure to ISO 9001, production docs, assemblies and ESD control.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transferring designed products to manufacturing.
• Review production procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
• Complete first article inspection and provide feedback to Engineering.
• Initiate engineering change orders and update designs.
• Work with Production Technicians to troubleshoot component failures.
• Drive time/cost reductions through continuous improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $38,000.00 To $48,000.00 Annually

Summary:

As a Production Engineer, you are responsible for the transfer of new products from development to Production. You will work with the Production team to troubleshoot technical issues throughout the production process and review technical changes with the Engineering team.

What You'll Do:

• Assisting in the transfer of designed products to manufacturing;
• Review production procedures and update for accuracy and improved efficiency;
• Complete first article inspection for new components and provide feedback to Engineering;
• Initiate engineering change orders and update designs for Engineering approval;
• Work with Production Technicians to troubleshoot component failures;
• Continuously improving our products/process through time and cost reduction;
• Other duties assigned.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Technology required;
• 3 years of experience with high frequency/RF testing preferred;
• Experience with production systems, including MRP and ECOs;
• Exposure to:
  • ISO 90001 manufacturing standards
  • production documentation
  • mechanical and electrical assemblies
  • electrical components
  • ESD control
• Understanding and experience in Lean Manufacturing is an asset.
