About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Support Manager for the Calgary Ready Mix Division, the Production EIT provides engineering, sales, and technical support for the Calgary Team. This developmental role offers a chance to gain expertise within our Ready-Mix business and build a long-term career with Lafarge.

This position is part of Lafarge’s New Graduate Development Path (NGDP), a two-year program offering exposure to various business aspects, networking opportunities, and professional development through e-learning and monthly sessions. The NGDP helps recent graduates transition into the workforce and fosters community within Lafarge.

Responsibilities

  • Model safety, environmental stewardship, leadership, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Assist in managing projects according to contract specifications.
  • Support contractors with product supply coordination and ensure compliance.
  • Develop strategies for sales, pricing, and profitability.
  • Provide product design support for engineering, production, and sales.
  • Coordinate with sales, project managers, quality control, and production teams.
  • Support clients from inquiry to project completion.
  • Resolve issues in production and on job sites.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide engineering input.
  • Conduct plant and site inspections for quality assurance.
  • Assist in preliminary designs for budgets and estimates.
  • Promote safety and environmental policies and culture.

Qualifications

  • Recently obtained University Degree or College Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Technology.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience; knowledge of contract law is a plus.
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-training working towards a Professional Designation.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with computers and learning new systems.
  • Self-motivated, problem solver, disciplined.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols, including PPE requirements.
