Job description

This position contributes to the production team, ensuring goals are met safely and efficiently while adhering to all company policies. The Production Crew processes vehicles safely to produce core and scrap products, enable customer parts pulling, and meet environmental standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Follow company policies and procedures, setting an example for the team.
2. Degarbage: Remove Freon, power steering fluid, brake fluid, batteries, excess garbage, and other items as prescribed.
3. Drain: Remove gasoline, coolant, waste oil, transfer case oil, catalytic converters, and other items as prescribed.
4. Set & Pull: Position vehicles on wheel stands for safe customer access to sellable parts, then remove vehicles and clean the area for the next set. Perform other duties as prescribed.
5. Field Decore: Loosen motor and transmission mounts, remove remaining tires and selected core items as prescribed.
6. Ground Decore: Remove heater cores, copper wire, and other items as prescribed. Maintain the crush pad to reduce downtime, harvest cores, and ensure environmental compliance.
7. Table Decore: Dismantle engines and transmissions, harvest wire, sort materials, and perform other duties as prescribed.
8. Tire Dismantling: Use the tire machine to separate tires and wheels, remove weights and stems, sort tires, and prepare rims for shipment.
9. Janitor: Collect and harvest dismantled core materials, remove debris, identify safety risks, and perform other duties as prescribed.
10. Miscellaneous: Assist customers courteously, complete logs for regulatory purposes, maintain storm water controls, and assist in mechanical equipment maintenance.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to wear and maintain PPE and follow safety practices.
2. Ability to follow instructions and understand safety labels.
3. Complete safety, environmental, and conduct training.
4. Work required hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
5. Work efficiently in various weather conditions.
6. Automotive repair/dismantling experience preferred but not required.
7. Experience with automotive parts, retail customers, tools, and machinery preferred but not required.

Physical Activities:

1. Regular standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
2. Manual dexterity and ability to lift 50 pounds.
3. Maintain facility cleanliness.
4. Sufficient vision for job tasks.
5. Work on feet for full shifts.

Job Conditions:

1. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
2. Periodic minimal chemical hazards.
