The Production Coordinator at Air Liquide plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the manufacturing process within the Winnipeg hub. This position is responsible for guiding and overseeing daily production tasks, optimizing workflows, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. It acts as a central point of contact for operational activities in the Midwest, bridging planning, execution, and support functions. This role is office-based in the Winnipeg Hub and requires proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and coordination of tasks and resources to meet production targets.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Production Coordinator focus on operational excellence, safety, and resource management:

Operational Oversight & Safety
  • Guide, delegate, and supervise daily work tasks within the production unit, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the manufacturing process in the cylinder filling plant.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and policies, actively participating in safety meetings, inspections, and promoting a safety culture.
  • Conduct operational checks, monitor equipment performance, and make adjustments to optimize production and quality.
  • Perform equipment rounds and safety inspections.
Production Planning & Coordination
  • Coordinate with sales, logistics, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure timely production flow and meet targets.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks.
  • Lead plant shutdowns, start-ups, and process changes safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate production delays or backorders with relevant teams.
Material Flow & Inventory Management
  • Oversee shipping and receiving, verify materials, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Address overages, shortages, damages, and discrepancies.
  • Manage shipments and logistics related to raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform audits.
  • Implement procedures to optimize inventory and reduce losses.
Computerized Systems & Documentation
  • Process material transactions in systems like Servitrax, Maximo, SAP.
  • Maintain system data, keep records, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare operational reports and analyze KPIs.
  • Identify improvement areas, present findings, and suggest enhancements.
Plant Administration & Process Improvement
  • Support purchasing and invoicing activities for production supplies.
  • Work with teams to improve processes, safety, and quality continuously.
