Job Summary: The Production Coordinator creates and updates purchasing orders for offshore vendors to ensure the development and production of garments are executed correctly and timely, following up on the work in progress to ensure on-time delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production planning: Plan and schedule production orders by posting orders with costs, timelines and production deliveries. Plan timelines before entering POs to ensure correct costs, ex-factory date, fabrics and trims.
- Vendor coordination: Communicate with vendors/factories to ensure tech packs, production sample delivery, development items, shipping documents and cost sheets are completed accurately and on time. Communicate with vendors/factories to ensure fit samples, pre-production sample, TOP samples, final inspection, and verify shipping is on time to meet delivery date.
- Purchase order creation: Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Documentation and reporting: Update and provide all reports in a timely manner.
- Invoice documentation: Post and submit invoices to accounting. Follow up payments are processed on time.
- Prepare freight quotes and coordinate with freight companies and suppliers to arrange and book shipment space.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- College/Associate’s Degree in apparel and textile study field.
- Experience in the apparel industry.
- Minimum 1 year experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Garment construction and fabric materials properties knowledge.
- Time management.
- Problem solving.
- Attention to Detail – methodical interest in precision and quality control.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Stress Tolerance, ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Service Orientation.
- Computer knowledge MS Excel, Outlook, Word, WMS and ERP systems (Blue Cherry).
Working Conditions, Physical Effort and Environment:
- Sitting for 5 to 8 hours.
- Little physical strength.
