Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. is seeking a Production Coordinator in Cambridge, ON. The role focuses on developing clear project schedules for shop plans and customer orders, while analyzing NR processes to improve performance and cost tracking.

You will report to the Focused Shop Manager and partner with internal teams to align priorities and resolve issues. The position requires a technical college diploma with 5+ years of manufacturing experience (or 7+ years with a high school diploma).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with a technical college diploma or 7+ years with a high school diploma
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational procedures
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and familiarity with planning tools such as Primavera
  • Solid computer skills and proficiency with relevant software
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong data gathering and analytical skills to support informed decision making

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate clear work lists, ensuring schedules stay on track through proactive status checks
  • Create and maintain recovery schedules, monitor progress and coordinate corrective actions
  • Support manpower planning by identifying staffing needs and preparing weekly overtime recommendations
  • Analyze and report on Non‑Conformance (NR) activity to improve visibility and communication
  • Coordinate materials availability by validating requirements and tracking in‑process items
  • Resolve schedule‑impacting issues by facilitating communication and securing resources
  • Provide weekly status updates and flag unplanned changes
  • Communicate customer hold and witness points to ensure timelines are understood

Position Overview

As our Production Coordinator you will develop clear and effective project or departmental schedules that support shop plans and customer orders, while also reviewing, analyzing, and reporting on the Non‑Conformance Report (NR) process to improve performance management and strengthen NR‑related analytics and cost tracking. In this role, you will report to the Focused Shop Manager and collaborate with internal teams and external partners, sharing priorities, exchanging information, and raising concerns to leadership to ensure smooth workflow and aligned objectives.

Your Day To Day As Our Production Coordinator
  • Develop and communicate clear work lists, ensuring schedules stay on track through proactive status checks and collaboration with shop leadership.
  • Create and maintain recovery schedules, monitoring progress and coordinating corrective actions to keep critical jobs on plan.
  • Support manpower planning by identifying staffing needs and preparing weekly overtime recommendations.
  • Analyze and report on Non‑Conformance (NR) activity, increasing visibility, strengthening follow‑up, and improving communication across quality and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate materials availability by validating requirements, tracking in‑process items, and working with shipping and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Resolve schedule‑impacting issues by facilitating communication, leading problem‑solving discussions, and securing required resources.
  • Provide consistent weekly status updates, highlighting progress and flagging any unplanned changes.
  • Communicate customer hold and witness points, ensuring all teams understand requirements and timelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Technical college diploma with 5+ years of manufacturing experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational procedures.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
