Position Summary
The Production Coordinator works within the Operations Team and is responsible for creating, planning, and preparing cut lists for the woodworking and panel saws. They use their attention to detail to read two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings and transform the data for production processes. The Production Coordinator works seamlessly with the Production Team to ensure production dates are met.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily production schedule for wood.
- Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the wood production schedule. Monitor production progress.
- Issue all work orders as per the production schedule.
- Coordinate activities with the production team.
- Communicate regularly with the Master Scheduler to meet delivery dates.
- Create daily cut-lists following set parameters.
- Collect and format data using the ERP system and engineering specifications for woodworking panel saws.
- Run and optimize data sheets using Ardis software to generate cutting programs for saws.
- Create Excel data sheets for engineering specials and new products.
- Maximize sheet pattern utilization to reduce waste and optimize grain patterns.
- Transfer cutting programs electronically to the panel saw.
- Prepare cut lists 5 days prior to manufacturing orders.
- Work with Engineering to verify data entry sheets for new items in the ERP system.
- Verify the accuracy of cut lists.
- Adhere to the production schedule to meet manufacturing deadlines.
- Communicate delays to scheduling or plant supervisors daily.
- Inform panel saw operators of any changes to cut lists before execution.
- Ensure precise data collection on cut sizes and edging operations in Excel sheets.
- Prepare and distribute manufacturing orders for components.
- Participate in review meetings with the Production Manager and Master Scheduler, updating on schedule status and potential issues, and providing solutions.
- Assist with Material Requirement Planning improvements and implementation.
- Maintain data integrity during entry.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Director on inventory planning to ensure production schedule integrity and responsible cash management.
- Work closely with purchasing to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
- Estimate materials and labor required for production.
- Update Smart Sheets as needed.
- Manage date changes in the production schedule.
- Prepare and maintain progress and other relevant reports.
- Process all required production documentation, including manufacturing orders.
- Follow health and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may be amended to support operational efficiency.
