Job summary

CPL is seeking a Packaging Equipment Cleaner for our 12‑month contract role in Mississauga. You will disassemble, clean, and re‑assemble packaging lines while following SOPs to prevent cross-contamination, ensuring GMP standards are met.

The position requires 2–3 years in pharmaceutical GMP settings, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with computers. On-site work with benefits and standard manufacturing environment inclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble equipment and hardware in the training line.

  • Keep cleaning records and measurements up to date.
  • Maintain GMP standards and safe work practices at all times.

JOB SUMMARY:

To disassemble, clean and re-assemble packaging equipment ensuring that all packaging equipment and packaging lines are cleaned and sanitized according to the relevant Standard Operation Procedures SOPs. This is to ensure that cross contamination or bacterial contamination does not occur during the manufacturing and packaging process.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Independent dis-assembly of all equipment and hardware in the equipment train.
  • Independent cleaning of all equipment and hardware in the equipment train.
  • Independent re-assembly of all equipment and hardware in the equipment train except for equipment deemed critical.
  • Assisting the Mechanic lead in the re-assembly of primary filling equipment or equipment deemed critical. For example, filling machine nozzles and pumps.
  • Independent cleaning and sanitizing of related wash up areas, filling and packaging rooms and lines.
  • Ensure packaging equipment is cleaned and sanitized according to the specified cleaning SOPs and documented accordingly.
  • Responsible for working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; using personal protection and safety equipment as required.
  • Report any injury or illness immediately and notifies CPL of any hazards, unsafe acts or conditions in the workplace.
  • Maintain the wash-up areas to ensure that it meets GMP Standards at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Packaging and Manufacturing rooms and equipment storage rooms.
  • Maintain cleaning records.
  • Ensure that the correct cleaning supplies and sanitizing solutions are used during the cleaning process.
  • Contribute to achieving Lean Goals and continuous improvement processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • Completion of secondary education is required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical / GMP production environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Demonstrated competencies in CPL’s core values.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt, respond quickly and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency, strong attention to detail including demonstrated reading and numeracy skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Confined space entry may be required.
  • Heavy lifting may be required.
  • Repetitive hip and upper body twisting movements.
  • Visual acuity necessary.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity necessary
