Job summary

Sunrise Soya Foods is seeking a Production Associate - Packaging Operator for the Night Shift in Delta, BC. You will ensure product quality, weights, accurate labeling, and proper sealing while collaborating with a packaging team to maintain GMP standards.

The role requires strong problem-solving and teamwork, with responsibilities including equipment sanitation, safety adherence, and mentoring teammates to improve skills on the line.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the final product net weight is above the required packaged weight with the correct code date.
• Prevents packaging of broken, cracked, or chipped corner tofu.
• Works with Packaging Team Lead to center labels/films and seal without leaks.
• Keeps leakers and misaligned films in separate baskets.
• Ensures correct pallet type and meets ti hi requirement.
• Sanitizes all equipment per GMP before production starts.
• Reports conflicts to leadership for timely follow-up action.
• Collaborates to ensure equipment operates properly.
• Trains and mentors colleagues to raise skill levels in all activities.
• Adheres to safety rules and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures the final product net weight is above the required packaged weight with the correct code date.
• Ensures that broken, cracked, or chipped corner tofu is not packaged.
• Works together with the Packaging Team Lead to ensure labels or films are centred on the packages and are sealed with no leaks.
• Leakers and unaligned film packages are to be kept separately in large baskets.
• Ensures all products are stacked on good, correct type of pallets and meet the “ti hi” requirement.
• Ensures that all equipment is properly sanitized as GMP requires before production starts
• Reports workers’ conflicts and concerns to the leadership team immediately so that follow-up action can be taken in a timely manner
• Works with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order
• Trains and mentors fellow employees to increase their skill level in all activities
• Observes and follows company safety rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is mainly performed in the production plant

Schedule:

• 8.5-hour workday - 15min (paid) coffee break and 30 min (unpaid meal break)
• Monday to Friday
• Shift: Night (10:30 PM - 7:00 AM)

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Delta, BC V4G 0A5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
