We have a rewarding opportunity for a Production Associate - Mechanical Assembly / Box Build to join our world-class facility in Ottawa, ON.

Working as a member of the Manufacturing Production group, you will be responsible for mechanical assembly processes involved in the manufacture of CWDS products. The successful candidate must be experienced in mechanical assembly; soldering experience would also be an asset.

Your Challenge:

  1. Operate equipment efficiently following defined work schedule from the area Supervisor & Production Control, and all Health & Safety guidelines.
  2. Assemble mechanical pieces onto the product as defined by drawings & BOMs.
  3. Apply adhesives or underfill to the product as required.
  4. Provide recommendations for process changes and improvements.
  5. Support yield improvements through Continuous Improvement Projects.
  6. Complete all logs, reports, and other data as defined by the area Supervisor.
  7. May contribute as a member of the Spill team and/or Health and Safety committee.
  8. Responsible for all material handling duties, lifting daily supplies as required.
  9. Willing to support 3 shift rotations as required.
  10. Maintain a workstation in regard to 6S principles.

What you Bring:

  • Experience within a PWB assembly or Box build environment.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP and personal computers.
  • Experience working with formal procedures and supporting documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to lift normal consumable supplies associated with the processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude with manual dexterity.
  • Familiar with mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with torque tools.
  • Soldering experience also considered an asset.
  • Post-Secondary education favorable but not required.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of defect recognition for workmanship requirements.
