Job description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assisting machine operators and lead hands to complete the daily production plan and ensuring that all products meet the Company’s product quality standards. The incumbent is also responsible for filling out load tags and transferring finished products to the Shipping Department.

Responsibilities

1. Report any production abnormalities to Production management, such as unsafe working conditions, machinery problems, product quality issues, or problems with raw materials/supplies.
2. Exercise Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
3. Adhere to company working standards.
4. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the production floor and soybean unloading area.
5. Follow work safe procedures and wear protective equipment as required.
6. Ensure that no production supplies and materials are kept directly on the floor.
7. Ensure all production supplies and materials are closed and sealed with tape after use.
8. Work collaboratively with other employees and lead hands to meet the daily scheduled production volume.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by Production Lead hands and Production Management Team.
10. Comply with HACCP, SQF, and GMP standards, requirements, and practices.
11. Report observations of any deviations from process/procedure, defects, or non-conformance to the product which may require food safety assessment, and immediately notify management to place product on hold or scrap as necessary.

Education and Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience working in a food manufacturing plant is a definite asset.
3. Experience working on an assembly line is a definite asset.
4. Basic English skills.
5. Strong team player.
6. Availability for various shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends.
7. Exposure to noise and a wet working environment.
8. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs consistently.
