Full-time permanent position - Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Salary: $17.20-$19 per hour, commensurate with experience

Location: Etobicoke, Kipling Avenue & Evans Avenue (TTC accessible)

We’re Materialistic, a specialty fabric house providing green and blue screens, backdrops, drapery, technical fabrics, and custom soft goods for films, television, and entertainment industries.

We’re seeking a new Production Assistant with a willingness to learn. Your role will involve:

  1. Handling, storing, receiving, and tracking fabric shipments
  2. Cleaning and repairing fabrics
  3. Maintaining a clean and tidy facility
  4. Using our computerized system to check orders for accuracy and picking/packaging accordingly
  5. Engaging with customers during fabric drop-offs or pick-ups to assess fabric condition

We will teach you the tricks of the trade if you’re unfamiliar with any tasks. You are a great fit if you are:

This is a full-time, permanent role offering $17.20-19 per hour, plus vacation and overtime. You will work Monday to Friday in our sunlit warehouse in Etobicoke, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with flexibility as needed. Our small company prides itself on doing elite work and working closely with the owner, who has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry. This is an opportunity to become an expert in fabrics and their role in film productions.

Qualifications:

  • Physically fit and able to lift/carry 60 lbs or more throughout the workday
  • Experience in a warehouse or logistics role
  • Experience in customer service or a customer-facing role
  • Basic mechanical skills or comfort with hand tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver)
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred but not required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry
  • Experience with sewing, fabrics, or design
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in fashion, design, or related fields
