Job summary

CHCH News in Hamilton is seeking a part-time Production Assistant to support on-air and online newscasts, working with the Morning Live and Evening News teams to ensure timely, accurate content across platforms.

You will monitor feeds, post clips to chch.com, liaise with Master Control and traffic, and take on other duties as needed. The ideal candidate has six months of live news experience, strong spelling, and a broadcast diploma. This is a union position in Functional Group S.

Qualifications

• Six months of live news production experience.
• Be well organized.
• Demonstrate strong spelling and grammar skills.
• Possess a broadcast diploma or equivalent.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Working knowledge of ENPS, Adobe Premiere Pro and WordPress is a strong asset.
• Be familiar with the current events of Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and Brant.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Working in concert with the Morning Live producer, Evening News producer, anchors, reporters, Lineup editor, writers and director-switchers, assist in all aspects of production of our newscasts on air and online
• Monitor social media and news feeds
• Post clips and other news to chch.com and other digital channels
• Liaise with Master Control & Traffic
• Other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Possess at least six months of live news production experience
• Be well organized
• Demonstrate strong spelling and grammar skills
• Possess a broadcast diploma or equivalent
• Have a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
• Working knowledge of ENPS, Adobe Premiere Pro and WordPress is a strong asset.
• Be familiar with the current events of Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and Brant.
