Are you looking for a manufacturing or mechanical assembly job in Penticton, BC? Slimline Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Assembler (sometimes called Manufacturing Assembler or Production Worker) to join our growing production team. You’ll work with hand and power tools, read blueprints and technical drawings, and assemble high-quality products for customers across Canada and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • To assemble components into finished products by reading instructions or blueprints, using hand and power tools, ensuring quality standards are met, and performing quality checks.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, or written instructions to understand how to assemble products.
  • Joining various parts to form sub-assemblies and complete full assemblies using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Inspecting and testing assembled products and components for defects, ensuring they meet specified quality standards.
  • Setting up and adjusting assembly tools and preparing the assembly line with necessary materials and supplies.
  • Keeping the workstation and tools clean, neat and organized.
  • Performing minor adjustments or repairs to correct defects in rejected products.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure efficient and coordinated line operation.
  • Operating cranes and hoists as required for assembly.
  • Verifying accuracy in the Bill of Material (BOM) and drawings, reporting discrepancies to the Engineering group.
  • Performing daily shop cleaning to maintain a clean working environment.
  • Attending daily meetings to communicate activities, safety updates, and maintain awareness.
  • Being available for seasonal overtime coverage as required.
Qualifications
  • Excels working with a team and communicating effectively.
  • Good attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to read measuring tape and torque wrenches.
  • Familiar with drills, impact guns, sanding, caulking guns and jig/fixtures.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to assemble components accurately according to design requirements.
  • Adherence to health and safety policies and strict safety protocol in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
  • Must have the ability to lift 35 lbs on a regular basis and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Position requires employee to stand for up to 8 hours at a time with frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
