The Product Wiring Assembler plays a pivotal role on the Operations team. As Armstrong continues to grow in manufacturing capacity and efficiency, we are looking for a dependable and hard-working individual who will be responsible for building our products. This includes, but is not limited to, mounting and wiring variable-speed frequency drives (VFD’s) to electrical motors

This position is based out of Scarborough, Ontario and is assigned to the Afternoon Shift (3:30pm – 12:00am).

In addition to annual initiatives, the key responsibilities are as follows:

Key Accountabilities:

· Mounting VFD’s to electrical motors

· Preparing electrical wires and conduits to produce the wiring loom

· Wiring the motor to the VFD

· Testing the electrical capabilities and quality of the VFD and motor

· Utilizing overhead and jib-cranes as well as other lifting devices

· Using safe material handling equipment such as pallet trucks/jacks

· All other duties as may be assigned

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in an electrical assembly or similar role
  • Working experience in wiring electrical components and connections in various cable and power sizes
  • Efficient at performing electrical testing including high-potential (‘Hi-Pot’) tests
  • Experienced working with overhead jib-cranes and other lifting devices considered an asset
  • Familiar with quality control and assurance practices, including inspection checks for non-conformances
  • Experience working in an ISO9000 accredited workplace preferred
  • Proficient ability to read and follow specific work instructions for made-to-order products
  • Strong sense of urgency in a time-sensitive working environment
  • Great team-oriented attitude, while capable of working independently
  • Working knowledge of typical measuring equipment, including tape measures
  • Ability to work while standing, bending squatting, and lifting up to 60lbs.
  • Strong verbal communication in English
