Job Description :
  • This is a 12-month contract opportunity.

Reporting to the Director of Pharmaceutical Product Innovation, the Product Specialist plays a crucial role within the Pharmaceutical Transformation team. This position is responsible for supporting comprehensive product management activities for drug benefit products and maintaining systems to support our products. As a Product Specialist, you will collaborate closely with team members to ensure the continuous delivery of exceptional solutions to our clients while maintaining our competitive edge in the market.

What will you do
  1. Identify and assess solution opportunities (new or modified); develop product management tactics considering timelines, client needs, priorities, and product roadmap.
  2. Contribute to the development of ongoing management processes and best practices by recommending product solutions that maximize output and reduce manual effort.
  3. Analyze trends in results and client insights to recommend strategies for ongoing benefits realization following implementation of initiatives.
  4. In partnership with the Pharmacist and Product Managers, develop, document, and implement ongoing management processes and schedules to ensure products are up to date on the system.
  5. Work with internal technical stakeholders to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  6. Manage team inbox and related inquiries.
Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Provide support, guidance, and training for PBM-related matters to members of the Pharmaceutical Benefits and Innovation team.

What do you need to succeed
  1. Solid understanding of group insurance benefits, drug benefits, formulary management, provincial drug plans, and PBM systems.
  2. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Access.
  3. Strong project management skills.
  4. Strong presentation skills.
  5. Strong client focus.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
What will be nice to have
  1. Pharmacy assistance experience in the Canadian pharmacy setting.
  2. Previous product management, plan setup, or claims experience.
  3. Familiarity with the products offered by Sun Life.

The base pay range is for the primary location of the job posting and may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate. Eligible employees participate in various incentive plans, which are discretionary and based on individual and company performance. Certain sales-focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
