Job description

Location : This position may be based in Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, or Vancouver.

In the Product Specialist role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day support for the product management team, along with managing some tail spend products. This position plays a key role in executing various business strategies created by the Product Marketing Managers. Product Specialists support activities across functions to benefit the product line, maximize profitability through sales price/cost management, and support supplier relationships.

Major responsibilities include :

  • NexPrice TPC base price and MQU administrative support.
  • Support administration and negotiate exception-based costs or pricing with suppliers.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit supplier/product reports as directed by solvents product management.
  • Projects to support efficiency and optimization initiatives.
  • Support maintenance of supplier grid for key chemistries to track cost, history, and optionality.
  • Provide direction as needed to district solvent teams, sales, purchasing, customer service, operations, and network planning in support of daily business decisions.
  • Complete new product setup in support of product launches or as business requires.
  • Maintain knowledge of and communicate all necessary product information to the organization in a timely manner.
  • Maintain daily business operations of a portfolio of products.
  • Primary contact for all pricing questions or issues from the sales organization and supplier community for assigned products.
  • Prepare product and market updates for the organization for assigned products.
  • Participate in periodic supplier meetings.

Qualifications Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a scientific discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales or purchasing experience in chemicals or related industry, distribution segment a plus.
  • Experience coordinating across many functions to gain alignment and influence execution.
  • Able to manage multiple projects with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Able to synthesize large data sets into actionable reports.
  • Projects a professional and positive image both inside and outside of the company.
  • The role requires a deep proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Enterprise Analytics. SAP and Salesforce.com experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to travel as needed; minimal travel (~15%).

Pay and Benefits :

The annual expected salary range for this position is $65,920 – 82,400. The specific salary offered may be influenced by various factors including relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
