Job description

Sensirion Connected Solutions specializes in advanced sensor-based IIoT solutions for continuous emissions monitoring in the energy sector. Its end-to-end platform combines proprietary methane sensing and optical gas imaging technologies with powerful data analytics, root-cause diagnostics, reporting workflows, and expert field support. Designed to simplify methane mitigation, the company‘s solutions empower operators to reduce emissions efficiently, enhance operational performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and meet ESG objectives. Sensirion Connected Solutions is a subsidiary of Sensirion Holding AG, a global leader in high-performance digital microsensors for environmental and flow-sensing applications and a trusted partner across industries worldwide.

Job Overview

The Product Manager owns the product direction and lifecycle of SCS's software-enabled use cases — including operational excellence, remote root-cause analysis, and regulatory compliance. These use cases are delivered through the unified SCS web application and APIs, drawing on data generated by our Nubo (photoacoustic fenceline and proximity sensing) and Kuva (optical gas cloud imaging) product lines. The role is also responsible for SCS’s Kuva gas imaging software platform and internal software applications.

Based in Calgary, Alberta and working within SCS's global Product Management team, this role is the voice of the North American market. It connects customer, operational and regulatory needs with Engineering, Software, Data Science, Operations, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Quality and leadership, so that SCS turns raw emissions data into workflows and reports that create measurable customer and business value.

The Product Manager collaborates closely with the PM Team Lead and the Switzerland-based Software PM (owner of the joint web application and Nubo backend), while owning the software-enabled use cases and North American regulatory offering end to end.

Job Profile
Use Case, Strategy, Positioning & Roadmap
  • Own and communicate the vision, strategy, positioning and prioritized roadmap for SCS's software-enabled use cases including operational excellence, remote root-cause analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Define how each use case is packaged and differentiated for target customers and jurisdictions, and which technologies best addresses the customer application.
  • Build evidence-based business cases and prioritize investments using customer value, regulatory relevance, strategic fit, commercial impact, technical feasibility, cost and risk.
Customer, Market & Regulatory Insight
  • Build structured voice-of-customer and market-insight processes through customer engagement, site observation and pilot feedback to understand customer problems, workflows, adoption barriers and desired outcomes.
  • Translate evolving North American regulatory and voluntary frameworks into clear product requirements and roadmap priorities.
  • Monitor competitors, adjacent technologies, partners, market trends and evolving customer buying criteria.
  • Represent SCS in selected customer, partner and industry discussions.
Requirements & Cross-Functional Product Development
  • Translate customer, business, technical and regulatory needs into clear product requirements, use cases, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog and coordinate priorities, dependencies, timelines, risks and trade-offs with Engineering and Software leadership.
  • Lead product discovery and validation through interviews, prototypes, field trials and data analysis, and participate through design, release readiness, launch and post-release review.
  • Ensure requirements reflect the complete customer experience, from installation and connectivity through software-enabled workflows, integrations, support and end-of-life considerations.
Product Lifecycle, Quality & Operational Readiness
  • Own product lifecycle and risk decisions from introduction through sustaining work, obsolescence and retirement in collaboration with relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Use field performance, telemetry, support trends and customer feedback to prioritize product reliability, usability and risk improvements.
  • Define release and launch-readiness criteria and ensure product claims, specifications, validation evidence, documentation, training, support and installation readiness are accurate and complete.
Commercialization & Go-to-Market Enablement
  • Develop product packaging, positioning, pricing inputs and value narratives in partnership with Sales, Marketing, Finance and leadership.
  • Equip Sales, Marketing and Customer Success with accurate training, demonstrations, collateral, competitive guidance, launch content and supportable product claims.
  • Support strategic proposals, pilots, integrations and expansion opportunities while helping establish clear handoffs from sale through deployment, adoption and support.
Product Performance & Decision Support
  • Define and report product metrics covering customer adoption and value, product performance, deployment and support, and commercial health; use the results to guide continuous improvement.
  • Communicate roadmap changes, trade-offs, risks and rationale, and provide leadership with recommendations on investment, resources, partnerships and lifecycle decisions.
Who you are
  • You are customer-centered and curious, with the discipline to look beyond individual requests and identify the underlying problem, workflow, and business outcome.
  • You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and are comfortable moving between a product vision, a technical discussion, a customer site, and a detailed release decision.
  • You make thoughtful, data-informed decisions while recognizing when speed, judgment, and iteration are more valuable than perfect information.
  • You communicate directly and respectfully, build trust across functions and geographies, and can influence decisions without formal authority.
  • You are organized and accountable, follow through on decisions, and bring structure to a fast-moving environment without creating unnecessary process.
  • You demonstrate the Sensi Spirit values of Teamwork, Top Performance, and Fair & Honest in how you collaborate and make decisions.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software product management experience, ideally for a software-as-a-service (SaaS) or IoT product in an industrial environment.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience in customer-facing product discovery and validation — turning diverse stakeholder input into clear problems, priorities and acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a product or product line through discovery, prioritization, development, launch, adoption and lifecycle decisions.
  • Technical fluency to make practical trade-offs across software, data/analytics and connected hardware, and commercial acumen to contribute to business cases, positioning and go-to-market.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10–20% for customer sites, field trials, industry events and collaboration at SCS locations in North America and Switzerland.
  • A background in environmental / emissions monitoring or oil & gas operations (leak detection and repair, optical gas imaging, gas sensing or emissions quantification).
  • Familiarity with North American methane regulatory and reporting requirements or voluntary frameworks.
  • Experience supporting regulatory approvals, performance testing, strategic pilots or partnerships with industrial customers and technology providers.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, industrial dashboards, APIs, MQTT, Event Hub, SCADA or other industrial-data integrations.
What Success Looks Like
  • A clear, evidence-based product strategy and prioritized roadmap that connects validated customer and market needs to measurable business outcomes.
  • Cross-functional teams receive decision-ready requirements and launch Kuva products and enhancements with strong operational and commercial readiness. Customer adoption, insight quality, time-to-value and commercial performance improve, and SCS is well positioned to win in the evolving North American methane monitoring market.
