Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Product Manager to lead the planning, development, and delivery of high-impact products. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering and prioritizing product requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of features and enhancements that meet organizational goals. This role requires a deep understanding of product management methodologies, strong leadership skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to revolutionize public service delivery. Join us in transforming how government services are accessed and experienced by businesses across the state. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager will mentor a junior Product Manager, providing guidance and fostering their development within the team.

Key Deliverables Will Include

Product Roadmap Development: Create and maintain a strategic product roadmap, detailing feature releases, enhancements, and long-term product vision.

Feature Prioritization: Prioritize features based on their impact, value, and feasibility, balancing short-term needs with the long-term product strategy.

Project Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and ensure alignment with project goals and organizational objectives.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure successful product delivery and alignment with organizational standards.

Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate regular updates and feedback sessions with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the product lifecycle.

Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor and collaborate with junior Product Managers, providing guidance on best practices and helping them grow in their roles. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure team development and knowledge sharing.

The Vendor's Personnel Will Also Be Required To

Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines.

Notify the Cluster/Ministry Project Manager in writing of any issues or material concerns related to the Assignment Deliverables, as soon as they become aware of them.

Submit Deliverables for the Cluster/Ministry approval as they are completed.

Comply with the Ontario Government and Cluster/Ministry security procedures and practices.

Comply with the Ontario Government and Cluster/Ministry architecture/technology standards and best practices.

Adhere to the Ontario Government Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Guidelines.

Provide knowledge transfer and skill development to designated Cluster/Ministry staff as part of the project delivery process.

Follow the Ontario Government I&IT Directive, Operational Policy on the I&IT Project Gateway Process, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards, and Procedures.

Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Product Management Experienceâ 50%

Proven experience in product planning and lifecycle management.

Skilled in defining and executing product vision and strategy.

Ability to gather and prioritize customer and business requirements.

Proficient in creating and managing detailed product roadmaps.

Experience with OPS project assessments (e.g., TRA, PIA) and financial analysis for multi-year projects.

Proven ability to manage multi-year, multi-million budget projects, including stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and scope control.

Expertise in formulating business and technical requirements, solving business problems, and defining product visions and goals.

Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams for product delivery.

Technical, Deployment and Project Integration Skills â 25%

Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Skilled in managing project life cycles using tools like Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, Kanban, and Azure DevOps.

Proficiency with online collaboration tools such as Miro, Microsoft Teams, Atlassian Confluence, Trello, Office 365, Google Drive, Zoom, and Slack.

Documentation Skills â 20%

Experience creating privacy, financial, communication, and IT documentation including business cases, Privacy Impact Assessments, Threat Impact Assessments, and Requests for Service.

Experience in creating Agile methodology artifacts such as roadmaps, release plans, epics/features/user stories.

Public Sector Experience â 5%

Experience with public sector ITIL processes including incident management, release management, problem management, support models, etc.

Familiarity with the PMO Stage Gate process as implemented in the Ontario Public Sector.

Experience with Service Ontario/Ministry of Government and Consumer Services business processes, gating procedures, project management requirements, and business rules.

Must Have

  • Experience delivery in a tight deadline and high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication skills, leading and hands-on exp.
  • Proven experience in product planning and lifecycle management.
  • Skilled in defining and executing product vision and strategy.
  • Ability to gather and prioritize customer and business requirements.
  • Proficient in creating and managing detailed product roadmaps.
  • End to end project management experience (inception to delivery)
