Job description

The Product Manager is responsible for one or more OntarioMD digital health products designed to meet the needs of physician and nurse practitioner clinics, aligning with the OntarioMD strategic plan.

The role involves overseeing all aspects of the product lifecycle and business operations, including developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps, managing product adoption, governance, quality, and performance measurement. The Product Manager ensures user engagement with internal and external stakeholders to optimize usability and deliver high-value products and enhancements.

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Product Delivery, and collaborating with multiple managers in a matrix environment, the Product Manager will:

  1. Develop and manage product strategy and lifecycle:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, partners, and vendors to improve products, services, and processes.
  • Conduct sector comparisons and innovation assessments.
  • Gather user feedback through surveys and groups to prioritize enhancements.
  • Analyze customer and partner feedback to define requirements and features.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for product planning, delivery, and release management.
  • Develop and implement product communication and business development plans.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog and support the creation of user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Support the transition of projects into operational states, working with stakeholders.
  • Manage daily operations:
    • Lead client adoption activities, engagement, and change management.
    • Communicate project schedules and milestones effectively.
    • Support release management and client UAT processes.
    • Provide leadership to product teams and coordinate with technical partners.
    • Monitor service levels and maintain vendor relationships.
    • Establish and report on KPIs and operational objectives.
    • Address product inquiries, support issue resolution, and lead benefits evaluation initiatives.

    Key Requirements:

    • Degree or diploma in Business, Health Administration, IT, or related fields.
    • Minimum 5 years as a product manager, preferably in a technical/software environment.
    • At least 3 years of experience with Ontario healthcare IT initiatives.
    • Deep understanding of Ontario’s healthcare sector.
    • Experience with benefits evaluation, surveys, workshops, and strategy development.
    • Familiarity with traditional and agile software delivery methodologies.
    • Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Knowledge of project financials, planning, and budgeting.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related tools.
