The Product Manager will be highly motivated to lead and grow our OTC portfolio in the Canadian market . This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and hands-on experience in both pharmaceutical sales and online channel development . The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the consumer health market, regulatory landscape, and multichannel promotional strategies.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Brand Development & Lifecycle Management
- Lead strategy and execution for a diverse product portfolio, enhancing brand visibility and ensuring long-term growth.
- Develop and implement brand plans, product roadmaps, and lifecycle strategies in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous portfolio optimization.
- Ensure all packaging, labels, brochures, and inserts comply with Health Canada regulations across pharmaceutical and OTC categories.
- Create compelling POS materials and in-store activations tailored for both pharmacy and physician audiences.
- Exhibit initiative and creativity with a results-oriented mindset to exceed brand growth expectations.
- Manage promotional budgets strategically, aligning spend with brand goals and maximizing ROI.
- Deliver accurate financial forecasts and support marketing decisions with data-driven insights.
- Oversee multiple design and creative projects, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality execution.
- Apply pharmaceutical and OTC sales expertise to map customer journeys across both retail and digital channels.
- Translate market dynamics and data from IQVIA, Nielsen, and Sell-in / Sell-out reports into actionable go-to-market strategies.
- Partner with sales teams to uncover growth opportunities and ensure alignment between brand plans and field execution.
- Support the planning and execution of sales meetings to communicate marketing strategies and drive engagement effectively.
- Design and implement integrated omnichannel campaigns across digital, print, and experiential platforms.
- Track and analyze marketing performance through KPIs and market data to optimize strategies and drive measurable results.
- Lead the design and execution of omnichannel campaigns across in-pharmacy, HCP-facing, and consumer digital platforms.
- Develop compliant promotional materials, ensuring adherence to Canadian regulatory standards (Health Canada, PAAB, ASC).
- Manage brand websites and digital touchpoints, maintaining up-to-date content and consistency across platforms, including e-commerce.
- Uphold and evolve Exzell Pharma’s visual identity, ensuring all creative assets align with brand standards.
- Support social media content development and strategy, including the creation of brand guidelines and templates to ensure cohesive execution across teams.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (regulatory, sales, medical, QA, and creative) to execute strategies that uphold brand integrity and align with business objectives.
- Manage third-party agencies to ensure efficient use of resources and high-quality execution of media and national advertising campaigns.
- Partner with the marketing team, designers, and social media specialists to create impactful digital and print assets, including social media graphics, infographics, brochures, presentations, email templates, and trade show materials.
- Liaise with external vendors, printers, and agencies to ensure accurate, timely, and brand-compliant production of marketing materials.
- Oversee visual support for events and promotional activities, contributing to the design of booths, signage, and presentation assets to ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's degree in marketing, pharmacy, sciences, or a related field to pharma and medical; an MBA or graduate degree is a plus.
Experience :
5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, with a solid understanding of sales and marketing functions within the industry.
2-3 years of OTC marketing experience in the pharma industry is a must.
2-3 years of experience in sales with OTC portfolios, consumer care or pharma.
Proven ability to manage product lifecycles, from launch to growth and optimization.
Skills :
Strong technical marketing skills, including segmentation, SWOT analysis, competitive strategy development, and risk assessment.
Expertise in omnichannel marketing strategy, execution, and associated KPIs.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment, with a track record of driving results under pressure.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Language :
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French or Portuguese is an asset.
Technical :
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), Asana or project management tools, Canva, Hootsuite, with experience using analytics tools to track marketing performance.
Nice to Have :
Experience in managing both B2B and B2C marketing strategies in the pharmaceutical sector.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical marketing and branding in the Canadian market.
Knowledge of digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
Work Environment & Additional Requirements
- Office & Remote Work : This role follows a hybrid model, requiring 4 days per week in the office (Monday to Thursday) and 1 day working from home (Friday). Fridays may involve working from the office or attending events, depending on the nature of the business.
- Travel : Occasional business travel required within Canada to engage with stakeholders and support brand initiatives
