As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for the strategy, ideation, design guidance, go-to-market positioning and overall leadership of your respective set of product categories. In this role, you will collaborate with upstream stakeholders (manufacturing partners and suppliers), stay on top of industry trends (constantly monitor market activity in respective categories, attend trade shows, be at the forefront of influential initiatives) and work closely with various teams (sales, marketing, and product development) to ensure our customers needs are met, while growing our business profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Product lifecycle management: from conception to launch of new SKUs and new categories, working closely with design and product development teams to ensure the evolution of existing products and oversee in-market performance to optimize product portfolios.
- Market analysis: monitor market trends, scan competitive activity, understand customer needs and identify product development opportunities.
- Product development: work with R&D and design teams to translate market research into creative ideation, product briefs, technical specifications and contribute to the product development process.
- Sourcing: responsible for identifying suitable and qualified suppliers as well as onboarding them and fostering long-term cooperative business relationships.
- Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with suppliers in Asia as well as internal stakeholders (design, sales, marketing, product development) to ensure the success of new products and categories
- Commercial channel driver: Coordinate internal line reviews, product lineup optimization and help prepare for external buyer presentations with major retailers.
- Pricing strategy: establish competitive pricing strategies while respecting the company's expected margins.
- Product performance monitoring: analyze sales results, customer feedback, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement or optimization.
- Technology monitoring: stay abreast of new technologies and innovations in the field to anticipate future needs.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in product management, ideally in the home improvement, lighting, electronics or a related industry.
- Analytical skills: ability to interpret market data and propose strategic recommendations for product road maps.
- Creative and innovative spirit: ability to propose new solutions, welcome and manage creative divergence from many sources, and challenge the status quo.
- Peer leadership: ability to guide collaborators to a unified purpose, align stakeholders on making key decisions that help meet the organization's goals, and relentlessly prioritize to ensure the team’s activities are maximized.
- Customer focus: understand and anticipate customer needs to develop products that meet market requirements.
- Excellent communication skills: comfortable in a cross-functional environment and with external partners.
- Ability to work in a team: collaborative, flexible and with a strong team spirit.
- Languages: English is required, French and Mandarin are a plus.
