As our Product Innovation Designer—Interior Products, you'll help shape the future of Fittes by turning bold ideas into beautiful, functional products. With a mix of creativity, curiosity, and data-driven thinking, you’ll support product development from concept to launch—working closely with our Product Engineer on research, prototyping, and 3D modeling.

We’re looking for someone inventive, agile, and tuned into what’s next in design and construction. You’ll keep a constant pulse on industry trends, uncover emerging opportunities, and ensure every new product aligns with the Fittes brand.

As an internal expert, you’ll share insights across teams and help drive growth through innovative product lines. You’re energized by ambiguity, quick to pivot, and always ready to bring big ideas to life.


What you’ll be doing:

Explore Opportunities & Build Industry Connections (30%)
  • Discover new product opportunities by actively researching trends, technologies, and gaps in the market.
  • Build relationships with industry professionals to gather insights and feedback on product development and existing products.
  • Analyze product technologies and market data to inform design concepts and guide decision-making.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends to inform product direction.
Drive Product Concept Development (60%)
  • Lead and collaborate in team brainstorming sessions to generate bold, functional, and beautiful product ideas.
  • Develop concepts that balance the Fittes “3 Fs”: Form, Function, and Fabrication, with a primary focus on form and function.
  • Identify, pitch, and present product ideas that align with the Fittes vision and market potential.
  • Rapidly prototype concepts using craft techniques and operate a 3D printer to bring ideas to life.
  • Build detailed 3D models and product drawings in SolidWorks to communicate design intent and support production planning.
  • Track and report on innovation metrics to evaluate impact and progress.
Support Product Knowledge & Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)
  • Act as a resource across teams, answering product-related questions and providing insights into function and features.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers for installation guides.
  • Work with the Product Engineer on detailed specifications.
  • Assist in developing marketing and sales visuals and renders.

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Have at least 4 years of experience working with clients and industry professionals to identify opportunities and define requirements.
  • Can translate technical details into accessible language, especially for non-technical audiences (2+ years experience).
  • Have a background in ergonomics and user-centered design, understanding how people interact with physical products.
  • Understand manufacturing processes, especially in sheet metal, injection molding, and extrusion.
  • Have 2+ years of SolidWorks experience, including modeling and drawings.
  • Experience with rapid and sketch prototyping, including 3D printing.
  • Can create photorealistic renders (KeyShot preferred).
  • Ability to analyze market data to inform decisions and improve product-market fit.
