Job description:

We are hiring a motivated Product Engineer to support our Guidewire Cloud transformation, focusing on Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating implementations. The role involves supporting the Managing Engineer, leading team members, ensuring successful project execution, and aligning with company objectives. You will design and develop Rating implementations, define hypotheses and metrics, and leverage best practices for scalable, reliable, and engaging code. Knowledge of Guidewire platform and related systems is essential.

Accountabilities:

  • Deep expertise in Guidewire with experience in configurations and customizations.
  • Leadership in Guidewire PolicyCenter projects.
  • Development of cloud concepts supporting Guidewire applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Gosu, Guidewire APIs, and related tools.
  • Mentoring peers, improving team skills, and ensuring best practices.
  • Incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Participating in project scoping, design, and documentation.
  • Developing and maintaining platform software, automating routines, and enhancing performance.
  • Driving innovation and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field.
  • 12+ years IT experience, with 5+ years in Guidewire PolicyCenter, including rating implementation.
  • Guidewire Developer PolicyCenter Ace Certification.
  • Proficiency in Java, Gosu, ReactJS, C++, Python, or similar.
  • Experience with Canadian P&C insurance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL practices.
  • Ability to lead discussions, make design decisions, and implement modern practices like TDD, CI/CD.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and a proactive leadership mindset.
  • Willingness to support production environments.

Bonus qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, monitoring, and analytics tools.
