On our team, the Engineer will use their creativity and technical skills to create innovative and quality toys. Job Description

The Opportunity:

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Product Engineer is responsible for the integrity (safety, functionality, and dependability) of new products during the design and technical development stages. The person appointed to the position will closely collaborate with Product Designers, Project Managers, and various collaborators in the implementation of the production process for products to ensure the proper development of parts, from the design phase all the way through the production process.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Evaluate the integrity of preliminary designs with the design group;
  • Closely collaborate with designers for the development of parts by establishing the shape, choice of materials, and tolerance to ensure that internal and external standards are met;
  • Revise and approve designs for submission for the tooling process;
  • Create 2D drawings and approve 3D production drawings under the supervision of the Engineering Manager;
  • Define performance criteria for products with Designers;
  • Follow up with various external suppliers on the manufacturing of molds to ensure the established deadline is met; communicate all changes to Project Managers;
  • Analyze the first parts produced for new molds; make recommendations to external suppliers in order to respect performance criteria, all the way through to the final approval of parts;
  • Provide support to the production group for the manufacturing of existing parts;
  • Actively participate in various engineering projects related to improving our development and production processes.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;
  • One-year experience in an engineering role;
  • Understanding of the design of plastic parts and injection molds (asset);
  • Mastery of the modeling software 3D SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software;
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure linkage between the design and production groups;
  • Ability to work under pressure to ensure that deadlines are met;
  • Excellent ability to find practical technical solutions;
  • Ability to work in a team and also work independently;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once;
  • Proficient with MS Office;
  • Bilingual (French and English; written and oral).
  • Demonstrated growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
