Job summary

Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. in Ontario is seeking a Product Engineer to drive designs from concept through production. You will design with SolidWorks, produce BOMs and RFQs, and collaborate with suppliers, fabrication, and project teams.

Ideal candidates have a Mechanical Engineering degree (P.Eng encouraged) and strong experience in sheet metal/Weldments, GD&T and FEA. This role offers a competitive salary and on-site work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent with several years design experience.
• Advanced SolidWorks proficiency including sheet metal, weldments, structural members, GD&T and revision control.
• Experience with design reviews, BOMs, RFQs and engineering documentation.
• Ability to perform structural analysis with FEA tools and interpret architectural/structural drawings.
• P.Eng designation or ability to stamp designs is encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and improve existing designs.
• Support continuous improvement with emphasis on manufacturability, structural integrity and serviceability.
• Create detailed SolidWorks models, fabrication drawings and BOMs; prepare RFQs and engineering packages.

Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. has partnered with this Designer and Manufacturer of Custom Engineered mechanical systems in their search to add the talents of an experienced Product Engineer to its engineering team. The Product Engineer will work from concept through to final production, creating innovative designs while collaborating closely with engineering, fabrication, project management, suppliers, and installation teams.

The Product Engineer will be responsible for developing new products, improving existing designs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives with a strong emphasis on manufacturability, structural integrity, installation efficiency, and long-term serviceability. Working extensively with SolidWorks, the Product Engineer will create detailed models, fabrication drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and complete engineering packages while ensuring designs meet applicable engineering standards and quality expectations. This role will also conduct design reviews, perform structural analysis using FEA tools, interpret architectural and structural drawings, coordinate with suppliers and installers, and participate in client and project review meetings throughout each phase of the project lifecycle.

Our ideal candidate will possess a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent along with several years of product design experience within a manufacturing environment. Advanced SolidWorks proficiency is essential, including extensive experience with sheet metal design, weldments, structural members, fabrication processes, GD&T, revision control, and engineering documentation. Prior experience with structural calculations, aluminum extrusion systems, construction methods, CNC machining, laser cutting, welding, and architectural products would be considered valuable assets. Candidates holding a P.Eng. designation or the ability to provide engineering stamps are especially encouraged to apply.
