Romafa Metal Works, Inc, a growing, internationally-operated enterprise in the Interlake region of Manitoba is looking for a skillful, well-educated, and experienced product developer in the mechanical engineering field. After a training period of several years, the employee should be ready to take on more responsible functions. Romafa’s expanding production capabilities make it possible to develop new business areas and create new job opportunities. Romafa would appreciate new ideas based on experience of the required employee, one of which is knowledge in renewable energy and hydrogen generation aspects. With a view to reach out to Europe and make the “Made in Canada” appreciated there, Romafa would benefit from experience in the European and especially German-speaking market. In order to develop and help to ensure a powerful and reliable mechanical engineering process the employee should have relevant capabilities and proven relevant experience as evidenced by the curriculum vitae.

As a product developer the employee will be part of a small mechanical engineering team and responsible mainly for modelling, drafting, and making installation manuals for stainless-steel products in cooperation with production, sales and marketing department by using CAD and making required calculation by means of SolidWorks and Excel.

The profile:

• A well-experienced product developer in mechanical engineering with a strong SolidWorks knowledge.
• Vocational training and practical experience in mechanical aspects are urgently needed.
• A bachelor degree of a Canadian university or recognized comparable education in mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering would be appreciated.
• Experience in agricultural and / or food processing machinery industry is required.
• Profound knowledge and experience in industrial steel and stainless-steel processing is required.
• Familiarity with European mechanical engineering standards would be very much appreciated.
• Willingness and ability to go along with existing design and production process standards and still having a strategy and constructive suggestions on how to improve and optimize the process step by step.
• Support development / engineering by using Finite Element Method. In the course of product development, this would be seen as a major advantage.
• s SolidWorks includes an application programming interface, you should be experienced to use it in order to optimize the design and production process.
• Some knowledge in CNC programming - in order to optimize the data flow to milling / turning / laser cut department - would be considered as a plus.
• ERP-system experience would be very useful.
• The average level of English at least IELTS 6.
