As Product Designer, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of online shopping for millions of Canadians. You'll have the opportunity to work across our portfolio of leading brands, including PC Express, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Joe Fresh, focused on the entry, browse, and search stages of the ecommerce shopping journey. Reporting into the Director of Product Design on a team of 5 designers, you’ll join a high-performing team passionate about using data and insights to craft intuitive and engaging digital products. Collaborating closely with product managers, researchers, and tech leads, you'll champion a user-centered design approach, ensuring our ecommerce platforms are not only functional but truly irreplaceable for our customers.

What You’ll Do

  1. Problem Discovery, Definition & Goal Setting : Collaborate with your team to ensure problems, initiatives, and outcomes are well-defined and based on objective data. Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops that align your team around clear problem statements and goals.
  2. Interaction Design : Apply interaction design processes to achieve desired outcomes. Focus on words, visuals, space, time, and behaviors in digital interfaces. Deliverables include journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, and wireframes.
  3. Art Direction & Visual Design : Design high-fidelity interfaces that convey visual personality, tone, look and feel, and appropriate flourishes for your product.
  4. Design Systems Thinking : Utilize and contribute to the team's design system, identify inconsistencies, and propose scalable solutions. Facilitate shared naming conventions across design and development.
  5. Design Research, Validation & Iteration : Lead user and market research activities, synthesize results, and leverage mixed methods to improve your work. Track performance post-launch and optimize based on data.
  6. Inclusive Design : Ensure digital products are accessible to everyone, reflecting community diversity. Apply knowledge of AODA and inclusive design 'grey areas' to enhance usability for all.

Your qualifications should include :

  • 2+ years of experience in designing consumer or enterprise digital experiences with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in e-commerce is desirable but not required.

  • Accessible, scalable digital experiences you have shipped.
  • Problem framing and solutioning that balance user, stakeholder, and technical needs.
  • Using design to explore questions, solutions, and success metrics.
  • Collaboration with multiple designers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • Key performance indicators used to measure effectiveness.
