The Role

Reporting to the Team Lead, as a Product Designer, you’ll help shape the future of Payworks’ workforce management solutions. You’ll transform complex workflows into simple, accessible experiences that empower thousands of businesses and employees across Canada. Responsibilities

• Research & Discovery
  • Analyze user needs, industry trends, and competitor offerings to uncover opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive research to identify what is happening in the competitive landscape and how product designs are affected.
• Design & Prototyping
  • Develop user journeys, wireframes, mock-ups, and high-fidelity prototypes that communicate end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to our design system by creating reusable, accessible components and documentation.
• Validation & Iteration
  • Run usability and user acceptance testing with internal and external users.
  • Use Figma and Maze to create interactive prototypes and gather feedback.
  • Iterate on designs based on testing insights, balancing business goals with user needs.
• Design Advocacy & Collaboration
  • Champion accessibility and inclusive design practices across product teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, team rituals, and sprint ceremonies to keep projects aligned.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 2+ years of professional experience in UX, UI, or Product Design roles, with a portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and execution.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in UX/UI, Human-Centered Interaction, or related field.
• Proven experience in UX, UI, or Product Design, with strong knowledge of usability, accessibility, and design principles.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React/Vue preferred).
• Experience designing for enterprise SaaS solutions across multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android).
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
