Overview

Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning (A&P) division, is looking for a Compliance Specialist to join other subject matter experts and play an essential role in our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company that is committed to customer service excellence and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Manager of Product Compliance, you will ensure our products meet stringent reliability, robustness, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements. You have working knowledge of international test standards with an understanding of new product introduction. You will collaborate with support project staff to provide conformity assessment details, timelines and cost estimates. You are a highly organized, precise, motivated, confident, and clear communicator. Your technical competence will assist and oversee all facets of HW verification projects with limited oversight: i.e. understanding of hardware requirements, detailed deliverables planning, interpretation of design documents and test requirements, planning of detailed test configurations, and proper application of product regulations.

Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Compliance Specialist you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide input to global product compliance regulations and standards on active programs (e.g. EMC, EMI, Safety, RF) with respect to the A&P product portfolio
  • Support product compliance activities throughout the New Product Development and Lifecycle processes
  • Work with project teams to remove any roadblocks and optimize project delivery for product compliance tasks
  • Understand hardware requirements and design documents and develop comprehensive test strategies, procedures and plans
  • Continuous improvement initiatives related to compliance/verification processes and documentation
  • Assist in managing global homologation and type approvals
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must-Have:

  • Electrical engineering degree or electronics technology diploma or related education
  • 3+ years of experience in a hardware verification and/or regulatory compliance testing including test methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of global wireless approval requirements, homologation and certification processes
  • Prior experience with any of the following regulatory requirements for electronic devices; Radio, EMC, EMI, Electrical Safety, European Directives (RED, LVD, EMC)
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs and computer skills
  • Ability to attain necessary security clearances

  • Knowledge and experience with radio technologies (RTK, Wi-Fi, BT, cellular)
  • Understanding of measurement uncertainty, quality assurance and calibration
  • Experience with electronics used in these applications, Autonomy, Agriculture, Automotive, Marine, Military, Aerospace
  • Working knowledge of RoHS / REACH / WEEE / SCIP / GADSL
  • Able to travel (estimated as 5% of the time)
