Job summary

Conair Consumer Products ULC in Woodbridge, Ontario, offers a Product Assistant role within the Beauty & Home division. You will support product development from concept through packaging, QC, production and retail launch, coordinating timelines and samples, and assisting with merchandising initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a post-secondary degree, 2+ years in CPG/retail, and strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office; SAP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Post secondary degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, or related field of study.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience in consumer packaged goods or retail.
• Experience in the beauty industry is an asset.
• Strong organizing and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end development from concept to retail launch.

The Position:

The Product Assistant provides support for product development within the Marketing department; from initial concept and sampling through quality control, packaging development, approvals, production and retail launch. Responsibilities include assisting with product and packaging development, coordinating product development timelines, tracking QC processes, preparing product samples for review and approval, and supporting the execution of off-shelf merchandising initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Support the end-to-end development, from initial concept and product briefs, through sampling, quality control, packaging development, production, and retail launch.


• Monitor development and production timelines, proactively following up with internal and external stakeholders to help ensure key milestones and launch dates are met.


• Coordinate and track product samples throughout the development and quality control process, facilitating internal reviews, documenting feedback, and ensuring timely approvals.


• Support new product ideation by identifying emerging fashion, beauty, and consumer trends relevant to the hair accessories category.


• Prepare product samples, presentation materials, competitive reviews, and other materials for internal meetings, customer presentations, and line reviews.


• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Operations, Quality, Legal, and Creative teams to support successful product launches.


• Support the development and execution of in-store displays, promotional programs, and off-shelf merchandising initiatives for key retail customers.


• Provide day-to-day administrative and project coordination support to the Product Development team across multiple concurrent programs and retail accounts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Post secondary degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, or related field of study


• Minimum of 2 years related experience, preferably in the consumer packaged goods or retail industry


• Experience in the beauty industry an asset.


• Strong organizing and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.


• Strong sense of urgency


• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner.


• Ability to think and work independently and with initiative in a dynamic team environment.
