Job description

Job Title: Product Application Specialist II

Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid)

With over 4,000 patents and operations in 140+ countries, Victaulic serves various industries, including commercial construction, fire protection, industrial construction, maritime, mining, oil, gas, chemical, power generation, and water/wastewater.

About the Role:

Victaulic is searching for an Application Engineer to join our Application Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your technical knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving skills to resolve complex problems.

The expectation for this position is that the candidate has working knowledge of mechanical pipe joining systems, mechanical piping applications, and customer interactions. The successful candidate will be exposed to Victaulic processes, Project Management, Product Management, and Product Development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work to become a knowledgeable resource for Victaulic products and system solutions by:
  • Learning and understanding Victaulic’s line of products including, but not limited to couplings, valves, fittings, catalog components, and devices.
  • Using the knowledge gained, develop solutions to a variety of complex situations that require independent judgment and ingenuity.
  • Provide engineering consulting support to the sales organization by addressing technical applications for Victaulic products.
  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support for customers utilizing Victaulic products by:
    • Communicating and working directly with customers by phone, email, letters, and supervised job site visits.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and investigative skills to complete on-site product investigations and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate returned products to generate reports for customers detailing root cause analysis.
  • Serve as the "customer advocate" resource to product developmental engineers and marketing on product issues.
  • Conduct training sessions and presentations with domestic and international Victaulic employees and customers.
  • Identify training opportunities to improve Victaulic products, solutions, and education.
  • Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or other relevant technical experiences. 5+ years of industry experience required.
    2. Experience with problem-solving in person or using electronic means (Teams, Facetime, etc.).
    3. Aptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools.
    4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
    5. Willingness to travel up to 30-40% of time domestically, with possible international travel.
    6. Valid current driver's license with no restrictions to driving.
    7. Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills required.
    8. Experience working with commercial mechanical and/or fire protection industry customers preferred.
    9. Ability to work proactively, independently, and manage your time effectively.
    10. Customer service oriented.

    Salary: $95 – 105k
