Job Purpose

This role is a core contributor within the Product Development team at Scotia Global Asset Management, focusing on external distribution channels. The role involves developing and maintaining actively managed investment solutions, including funds and ETFs, under the Dynamic brand. The successful candidate should have a keen interest in the investment industry, demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, and a proactive, positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support and develop key recommendations throughout the product lifecycle by conducting research and analysis (e.g., product gap analysis, fee analysis, monitoring sales flow, asset growth, industry trends).
  2. Collaborate with partners across the business to implement product initiatives via distribution channels.
  3. Assist in creating advisor and investor support materials, working with Product Marketing, Product Management, and Communication teams.
  4. Manage relationships with external data providers, such as Morningstar, providing updates on new or existing products.
  5. Track and communicate project milestones, proactively identifying automation opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  6. Ensure operations align with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and sales principles, maintaining effective controls and compliance with operational, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk standards.
  7. Participate in a client-focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader bank resources.
  8. Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Undergraduate degree.
  2. 3+ years of experience in the investment fund industry.
  3. Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and progress toward industry designations.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Technical savvy with data analytics experience; familiarity with platforms like Morningstar Direct is an asset.
  7. Self-motivated, accountable, team-oriented, proactive, with a can-do attitude.
