Job summary

Nature's Fare Markets in Kelowna is seeking a Produce Team Member who is passionate about local and organic produce. You will help customers choose products, share farm origin information, and maintain vibrant, full displays of our fruits and vegetables.

You’ll train to assist customers, stock displays, and learn about featured products while upholding our 100% organic standards. A friendly, energetic team environment awaits in this BC-based company focused on health and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Experience in produce is required.
• Experience in a customer service role is needed.
• A passion for local, organic and sustainable food and natural supplements.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and desire to contribute to people’s health and wellbeing.
• Ability to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment.
• Interest in learning Produce Purchasing (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the department and build connections with customers.
• Assist customers with product questions and offer suggestions based on needs.
• Stock displays throughout the day for easy customer access.
• Use creativity to make attractive and organized displays.
• Learn about new and featured products through store flyers and magazines.
• Cross-training in other store departments as part of the team.

Job description

***The successful candidates will be scheduled up to 32 hours per week, andmust be available to work AM/PM, weekdays and weekends with a special emphasis on evenings and weekends.***

Regular Store Hours:

Mon – Sat 8:00am – 8:00pm
Sun 9:00am – 7:00pm

PRODUCE TEAM MEMBER

As part of our produce team, you are passionate about what helped get us started as a company – local and organic produce! This is an area that we are deeply rooted in and only offer 100% organic produce in our stores. As part of this role, you like helping others choose products that work best for their menu and giving some background on what farm their produce came from. This role also keeps our displays looking full and amazing with our colourful selection of fruits & vegetables.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Give a warm “hello!” to our customers as they enter the department – we like building connections with our new and regular customers and sharing a laugh along the way.
• Assist customers with questions they may have about products we and give suggestions based on their needs (don’t worry, we will train you on this!)
• Work with your team to stock displays throughout the day so it is easily accessible for customers when they need it.
• Use your creativity and eye for detail to make attractive and organized displays.
• Learn about new products and featured products that are on sale through Nature’s Fare’s flyers and magazines.
• Cross‑training in other store departments as part of the greater team.
• In other words, you will help others, share your knowledge on our amazing products, be safe, be a great team player and have fun!
