• Follow weight and size guidelines for packaging.
• Attach labels to packaged produce with accurate pricing, expiration dates, and product information.
• Ensure proper placement of labels for easy identification.
• Practice FIFO (First In, First Out) method by rotating older stock to the front and placing fresher produce at the back to minimize waste.
• Keep the packing area clean and sanitary by regularly cleaning work surfaces, removing trash, and organizing supplies.
• Track inventory levels and report low stock to supervisors to ensure timely reordering of products.
• Weigh bulk produce items and package them into customer-sized portions according to store policies and customer needs.
• Follow all safety protocols for handling fresh produce, including washing hands, using gloves, and maintaining proper hygiene to prevent contamination.
• Occasionally assist customers by answering questions about produce quality, availability, and pricing.
• Help receive and unload produce shipments from suppliers, inspecting the delivery for quality and quantity accuracy.
• Monitor produce for signs of spoilage, removing unsellable items, and reducing waste by creating packages or promotions for products nearing their expiration date.
