Responsibilities:
  • Properly train staff to understand policies and procedures and communicate effectively with customers.
  • Schedule department appropriately to meet business needs.
  • Handle customer complaints efficiently and properly.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Food Safety policies within the store, and ensure staff adherence.
  • Train and motivate staff.
  • Delegate and prioritize workload for staff.
  • Effectively merchandise advertising and promotional programs.
  • Recommend achievable and aggressive sales goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities.
  • Manage receiving, storing, and handling of products to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure proper product rotation and signage for produce displays to enhance sales and profits.
  • Maintain pricing integrity.
  • Take accountability for store operations in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.
  • Perform any other duties necessary to provide courteous, friendly service, maintain competitive pricing, and meet hygiene standards.
Qualifications/Experience:
  • Preferred: 2 years of Produce Management experience.
  • Understanding of critical success factors for the No Frills concept as a discount food store focusing on low-price image.
  • Knowledge of the produce department’s impact on store performance, including merchandising, inventory management, invoice checking, and cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage people effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Solid knowledge of all aspects of produce operations and products.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
